Karaman 1952, known from several localities in Slovenia (locus typicus: Podpeska Jama cave, Slovenia) is mentioned. The specimens from Zeljnske jame Cave, Zeljne, Kocevje (Slovenia), separated from N. podpecanus as a new species by Delic et al. (2017) based on the molecular/genetic data only, Niphargus gottscheeanensis Delic et al. 2017, are here morphologically described and drawn.
